Millard Bond, 73 years old, retired Joplin mail carrier, died yesterday afternoon in a St. Paul, Minn. (*), where he had undergone a major operation. Mr. Bond, who retired from the postal service in 1939, had gone to St. Paul December 14. (*) editor probably left out the word hospital) He was a mail carrier here from 1910 until 1939, retiring on reaching the age of 65. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Woodmen of the World. The Bond home is at 1601 East Sixth street. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Alta Bond; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Benepe of St. Paul and Mrs. Edna Bond Ripley of Dallas, Tex; a brother, John Bond of Ontario, Canada; a sister, Mrs. Clara Hollingsworth of Mount Vernon, and six grandchildren. The body will be received by the Parker-Hunsaker mortuary. |
