     Millard Bond, 73 years old, retired Joplin mail carrier, died yesterday afternoon in a St. Paul, Minn. (*), where he had undergone a major operation. Mr. Bond, who retired from the postal service in 1939, had gone to St. Paul December 14. (*) editor probably left out the word hospital)
     He was a mail carrier here from 1910 until 1939, retiring on reaching the age of 65. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Woodmen of the World. The Bond home is at 1601 East Sixth street.
     Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Alta Bond; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Benepe of St. Paul and Mrs. Edna Bond Ripley of Dallas, Tex; a brother, John Bond of Ontario, Canada; a sister, Mrs. Clara Hollingsworth of Mount Vernon, and six grandchildren.
     The body will be received by the Parker-Hunsaker mortuary.

Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Henley, Don Price, E. E. Cloud, Leslie Travis, Earl Reed, James Roe, Fred Gardner, H, E. Blaine and Dr. W. W. English.
     Mr. Bond, 74 years old, died Tuesday in a St Paul, Minn., hospital. Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Owsrk Memorial Park cemetery. The body will lie in state al the Parker-Hunsaker chapel until noon today and then be removed to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour.
