He noted: As is written on your site, for Philip Burrell, an orphan's court entry regarding his minor children, notably daughter Susanna, to whom guardianship was give to Michael Reitz. (Michael was a son of Johan George Reitz, the family's pioneer immigrant to Northumberland Co., PA, in 1751. Susanna went on to marry Michael's son Daniel W. Reitz, and they are my 3rd great grandparents. I have 1203 descendants and spouses of this couple. They gave the Burrell name to almost all their children; my great grandfather was Samuel Burrell Reitz. Further, Susanna's sister, Rebecca, married another of Michael's sons, Daniel's older brother Samuel. I have 93 of their descendants and spouses. One of these days I'll try to track down their lines, a bit harder because they migrated to Waverly, NE in the 1870s. There are some Lancaster Co., NE genealogical and biographical records for this family and their children on-line. It's the more recent generations that are harder to locate. There are also some old family photographs of their descendants. |
