Dunnington, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Morrison Woods Health Campus. She was born on March 18, 1919 in Gas City, the daughter of James and Myrtle (Rhinehart) Minton. Jennie worked as a sales associate at Sears for many years along with being a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Halteman Village Baptist Church. She regularly attended luncheons at High Street and Gethsemane United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dunnington was an avid bowler, enjoyed camping with her family, and listening to Cincinnati Reds baseball games. Survivors include her son, Robert Dyer (wife, Andrea); grandchildren, Brad Drill (wife, Vilmar), Monica Ingle, Elaine West (husband, David) and Ronald Davenport; eight great-grandchildren; a niece, Connie Jackson; nephew, Gary Mong (wife, Tammy); also surviving is her great-niece, Melanie Cook (husband, Bill). She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dyer in 1964; her second husband, Klettis Dunnington in 1989; her daughter, Sandra L. Thompson; a brother, James Minton; and three sisters, Virginia Stearn, Bonnie McKinley, and Marcella Mong. Services are 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie. Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be directed to Halteman Village Baptist Church, 4100 North Oakwood Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. |
