| Marriage* | 5 March 1809 | Fleming Davidson married Mary Delong, daughter of George Delong and Elizabeth "Jane" Ward, on 5 March 1809 Phyllis Slater of Wheeling WV says that she found the marriage record in Belmont Co OH, and was surprised to find it there instead of WV. However, though there are several Mary Delong marriages in Belmont county, there are none to a Davidson, and Fleming Davidson doesn't show up as a groom either. (SLC 317290, and Ancestry index.) |
| Deed | 3 June 1822 | On 3 June 1822 at Ohio Co., West Virginia: An Indenture Deed signed by Mary and her husband Fleming Davidson on June 3, 1822 states they were living in Virginia at that time. Mary and her husband Fleming were living in Ohio Co., VA (now WV) on Oct. 30, 1822 as corroborated by a document concerning the sale of the lands of Mary's deceased father George DeLong. Mary signed the document "with her mark" so she evidently could not write.1 |
