Will*29 April 1740 Peter Groendyke left a will on 29 April 1740; In the name of God, Amen. I, Peter Groenendyck, of Schenectady, being at present of health. I leave to my three sisters, Mary and Anna Groenedyck and Sara Stevenson, my 6 silver sppons. To my wife Margaretta all my household goods and furniture. to my eldest sister Mary my negro wench "Bett." To my nephew John Stevenson, my negro boy, and my silver-hilted sword, and £5, adn my riding horse now in the custody of William Bancker, and a mare now in the custody of Myndert Winple. I leave to my nephew, James Stevenson, a negro boy, and to my niece, sara Stevenson, a negro girl. I leave to my three sisters my house and lot where I now live, and all the rest of my estate, real and personal. I appoint philip Livingston, Esq., and James stevenson, of Albany, merchants, executors. Dated April 29, 1740. Witnesses, John DePeyster, John Beekman, Jr., William Livingston. Proved before Jacob c. Ten Eyck, Esq., appointed by Hon. Hames DeLancy, March 17, 1760. James Stevenson was then the surviving executor.1
