Birth*14 September 1821 Daniel Wood was born on 14 September 1821 at Virginia date backed into from age at death.
Son of Joshua Wood and Sarah Mash. 
Census1850*1850 He appeared on the 1850 census as the head of household, Salem Twp, Meigs Co., Ohio. His info on the census included Daniel is 28, a merchant, living at home.
Joshua Wood, Daniel's father, willed to Daniel for and during his natural lifetime the tract of land on which Daniel lived: Lots 35 and 38 of the DeLaziere tract containing 81.32 acres and at his death to his heirs. (per Janet Beck.)
 
Marriage*2 November 1851 He married Olive Jane Bassett, daughter of Samuel C Bassett and Esther Bodwell, on 2 November 1851 at Athens Co., Ohio, Marr record book 3 page 308
Daniel Wood and Olive Jane Bassett married in Alexander on the 2d inst, by Rev H. J. Carr. Mr. Daniel Wood of Columbia, Meigs Co; Olive Jane from Alexander (The Athens Messenger 7 Nov 1851)
Marriage certificate also provide by Janet Beck:
"This certifies that Daniel Wood and Olive Jane Bassette were united by me in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony at Meigs Co Ohio on the 2nd day of November 1851" However, the certificate is not signed, and Meigs county does not agree with the marrige record in Athens county, so it was probably a commemorative after the fact. It would be interesting to see if the marriage is also recorded in Meigs county. 
Census1860*1860 Daniel Wood appeared on the 1860 census as the head of household, Pg 144 #232-216, Salem Twp, Meigs Co., Ohio, along with Olive Jane Bassett, Hester Ann Wood, Emiline Percilla Wood, Joshua Wood and Samuel Chipman Wood . His info on the census included Wood, D 36 b.VA farmer $blank $150. 
Residence*between 1866 and 1867  In between 1866 and 1867 Daniel Wood resided Janet Beck said: I think they came to MO during the winter of 1866-1867 as Esther was 13 that year and they had to wait until the Mississippi River froze. 
Census1870*1870 He appeared on the 1870 census as the head of household, Farmington pg 721b #160-166, St Francois Twnshp, St Franscois Co., Missouri, along with Olive Jane Bassett, Hester Ann Wood, Emiline Percilla Wood, Joshua Wood, Samuel Chipman Wood, Lucinda J Wood, Sarah O Wood and Charity Eveline Wood . His info on the census included Wood, Daniel 47 b.VA, farmer, $750 $460. 
Census1880*1880 Daniel Wood appeared on the 1880 census as the head of household, ED 118 pg 442 #125-125, St Francois Twnshp, St Francois Co., Missouri, along with Olive Jane Bassett, Joshua Wood, Samuel Chipman Wood, Lucinda J Wood, Sarah O Wood and Charity Eveline Wood. His info on the census included Wood, Daniel 57 b.VA, farmer, father b.NY, mother b.OH, father b.VT, mother b.VA. 
Death*6 January 1897 Daniel Wood died on 6 January 1897 at Doe Run, St Franscois Co., Missouri, at age 75 Place per location of cemetery. 
Burial* He was buried at Pendleton Cemetery, Doe Run, St Francois Co., Missouri, same tombstone as wife Olive and sis-in-law Lucinda Bassett
"Daniel Wood died Jan 6 1897 aged 75 years 3 M's 22 D's"
Old Pendleton Cemetery, earliest marked grave is 1802. this area of Doe Run settled by people from Old Pendleton District of S.C. Old Pendleton Baptist Church on Hildebrecht Rd was formally organized in 1825. Cemetery is likely burial ground for 1700's early settlers.
