In the 1900 census, Raymond has 36 years married, making it 1864. However, in the 1880 census, there are only two children, and they are young, making this 1873 date more likely. So, I assume that the "36 years" should have been 26 years

Obituary Martin Thomas Ash, aged 41 years, 2 months, 29 days, son of Thomas and Luberna Ash, was born at Ashley, Doddridge county, where he lived the greater part of his life, died at his home at O'Neil, Clarksburg, Nov 28, 1923, following an illness of Brights disease.
     Mr Ash was a member of the Christian Church and was well liked by all who knew him.
     On October 1, 1904 he married to Adda Belle Pratt, who, besides the following children survive: Denzil, 16 and Dale, 14. Daughter Marie having died in infancy. Besides his mother, he leaves the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Sarah Barnard, of Newell W. Va., Mrs Clara Harbert, of Clarksburg, W. Va., Mrs Nathila Lauk, Mrs Elsie Doak, Mrs Mary Lauk, all of Ashley, W.Va., Ezra, of Jacksonburg, W. Va., Asbury, of Ashley and Tillman E., of West Union, W. Va.
     Funeral Services were held at his home in O'Neal after which the remains were laid to rest in the Underwood Cemetery at AShley, Friday afternoon.
     Rev. D.L. Guthrie conducted the services.1

Obituary 3 May 1973 West Union Herald, West Union, Doddridge Co., West Virginia, Asbury F. Ash, 76, of Center Point Route, Ashley community, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 in a Clarksburg hospital, following a heart attack. He was a retired employee of Carnegie Gas Co., with 42 years service.
He was born at Ashley, June 2, 1896, a son of the late Thomas and Leverna Kile Ash. On Nov. 23, 1918, he married the former Lula Olive Swiger, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walton (Louella) Boyce of Garrettsville, O.; Mrs. Leroy (Junell) Lyons of Weirton; and Mrs. Howard (Louetta) Goodrich of Windham, Ohio; three sons, Albert Ash of Lisbon, Ohio; Arnold Ash of Windham, Ohio; and Landis Ash of Ravenna, Ohio; 30 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and one daughter.
Mr. Ash was a member of the Ashley Christian Church.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at Center Point Christian Church with the rev. Howard Elifritz of Salem officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Obituary Mrs Addie Bell Sidwell died Sunday, April 24, in San Diego, California. She had just celebrated her 92nd birthday.
     Mrs Sidwell was buried next to her late husband, Bert, at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, California, following graveside services.
     Mrs Sidwell was born on March 28, 1885, in Wilbur, W. Va., the daughter of Isaac Newton and Mahala Vansickle Pratt. She moved to San Diego in 1949.
     Surviving Mrs Sidwell are two sons, dennis D. (Marie) Ash of San Diego, and Denzil (Alma) Ash of Pampa, Tex.; two grandsons, Dennis T. Ash of Jackson Wyo., and Leonard D. Ash of San Diego; and four great-grandchildren, Ursula Richey of St Joseph, Mo.; Linda Ash of Hilo, Hawaii; Leonard Ash of St. Joseph, Mo. and Peter Ash of Costa Mesa, California.2
