James (#2) Kile-Coyle; Frederick Co., Virginia, Frederick County Virginia Marriages 1771-1825 Complied & Edited by Eliza Timberlake Davis 1941 (SLC 6019214) pg 46 (spelled Freefar) On same page is Frederick Kyle/Ann Mauck 23 Jul 1803. Related? Note that there are no other people named Freefar. However, there are a lot of people named Freehafer, mainly from PA, so that is the likely spelling of her name. When next in SLC, look at film 31456 to get copy of the original record to do my own interpretation of the spelling of the name. |

James (#2) Kile-Coyle, Robert Kile-Coyle; DNA - Kathryn Kyle Hall's cousin Karl participated in DNA testing, and she said the test results came back on a Virginia man named Chris Kile. He and Kathryn's cousin do not match. Chris's great uncle was Orville Kile who wrote the Kile/Coil book. His research shows he is descended from Robert Kile, brother of James Kile #2. Kathryn goes on to say: There are 3 mutations or variations so the odds of us being related are minimal. So there are only a couple of possibilities - His research is wrong - my research is wrong. The DNA tests show a positive (25/25 match) between my line and Josiah Kile b. 1812 Pickaway Co., OHio and 36/37 match between James Kyle of County Tyrone, Ireland and my line. I guess the best thing now is to try to prove who Josiah's parents were and keep going back in time till I find where my line and his meet. With the one mutation, I will probably find that my line joins with the County Tyrone line back in Ireland, although the mutation is on a fast changing marker, so that could mean we could match over here with a common ancestor. He sent me his research, but I don't see how we fit into his line. And Josiah's parentage is a brick wall. I have hired two researchers in the past few months to go through records in Pickaway and they have found nothing on who his parents were. There was one comment in a county history book that said Josiah's sister's father was William Kile. LDS records also show a Joseph and a James as his father. Just when you thought you had your ancestors all nailed down, along comes a DNA test and stirs them all up again. Back to ye olde drawing board. DNA chart can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~firebird/ftdna041204.htm If anyone reading this on the web has any information on a Josiah Kile, b. 1812 Pickaway Co, with a sister Isabel, b. 1818 who married John Woolington, let us know. Later correspondance from Kathryn Kyle Hall: Orville Kile's book shows Robert as having a son William. This is - I believe- in error. That William Kile Sr., died in 1815 from cold plague, as did his wife and son William Jr. Chancery court records - Hampshire Co - p. 62 - 12 July 1813 - the heirs of Robert Kyle, deceased, are bringing suit against the widow and heirs of James Kyle (my James(2) and Robert was the executor of James' estate for return of money - the signatures for the suit - John and Frances Kile Stewart William and Catherine Kile Stage Robert Kile Rebeccah Kile John Kyle Anna Kyle Thomas Kyle Margery Kile Elizabeth Kile James Kile Matilda Daniel Kile Robert's widow, Hannah, signed for the minor children. There are 12 names - in the land records from 1817 through 1844, these same 12 names appear - and they say - selling my 1/12th part - nowhere is there the name of William Kile. That would explain why Chris Kile's DNA did not match our line of DNA. He descends from William Kile, Sr. We could not figure out why his DNA did not match ours - now we know - William Sr was NOT a son of Robert. |
