Immigration 1650 Thomas Underwood came to America in 1650 without his wife, Elizabeth Meeres. He paid for his own passage and she was "transported" later, at his expense.1

Deed 9 February 1662 Middle Neck, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, received a grant of 50 acres surveryed February 9, 1662 
Deed 6 August 1664 Middle Neck, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, received a grant from Lord Baltimore for (700 acres?), which he called "Middle Neck." On 8th August he received another grant from Lord Baltimore for 100 acres in Anne Arundel, which he called "The Landing." The assumption is that he was being rewarded for bringing in new people.1

     In the Name of God Amen this Twenty Eighth Day of May in the Year of Our Lord God 1730. I Charles Walker Senr. of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Planter being Sick & Weak in Body but of Sound & perfect Mind & memory Thanks be to God for the same & Calling to Mind the Uncertain Estate of this Mortal Life & that all Flesh must Yield unto Death when it shall please God to Call do make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following revoking and making void all Wills Testament or Testaments by me heretofore made by Word or Writing & this to be taken for my last Will and Testament and none Other. And first Being Sorry for my Sins past humbly ----- of God forgiveness for the Same hoping through the Merrits of my blessed Saviour to be eternally Saved in to whose Hands I commit my Soul and my Body to the Earth to be decently interred by my Executrix hereafter named, And as for my Temporal Estatewherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give & bequeath the same in Manner & Form Following ~
     Item: I give & bequeath unto my dear and loving wife Rebecca Walker during the term of her natural Life all that plantation whereon I now dwell being situate on a tract of land called "Bacon Hall" and likewise all that part of the said tract of land of "Bacon Hall" which lies on the South Side and on the same Side on which my now dwelling plantation is Seated of a marked line marked by my Brother in Law Richard Isaac and myself which said line comes down a branch from the plantation of my son Charles Walker and takes with the said marked line up a barren ridge and then turns to the Right Hand up a Second Barren Ridge & continues to the Ivy Bushes and from thence upon the same Ridge as far as I have any land in the said tract.
     And allso I give and bequeath unto my said loving wife Rebecca Walker during her natural fifty acres of land joining upon the Eastern Branch & "Bacon Hall" afores'd only with this reserve that my son Joseph Walker shall have liberty to live on some part of the above mentioned plantation or lands and thereon to work & have the benefit of his labour, he no ways interrupting nor molesting my loving wife Rebecca Walker his mother.
     And after her decease I give & bequeath all the above said plantation and lands to my said son Joseph Walker to him and his heirs lawfully begotten forever but in case my said son Joseph Walker should die without leaving any issue or heirs lawfully begotten as aforesaid that then I give the above mentioned plantation & lands shall fall to my eldest son Charles Walker to him & his heirs for Ever.
     Item: I give & bequeath to my eldest son Charles Walker all that part of the aforesaid tract of land called "Bacon Hall" together with the additions thereunto belonging which shall be found situate and lying on the North side of the above mentioned marked line being on the same side on which my son Charles's plantation is now seated, to him and his heirs for ever.
     Item: I give & bequeath to my sons Charles Walker & Joseph Walker all that tract of land called "Cut Short" lying upon Collington Branch to be by them jointly disposed of and to be equal sharers in the benefit thereof to them and their heirs for ever
     And Lastly after my debts and funeral charges shall be paid I give all the remainder of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my dear and loving wife Rebecca Walker during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same to be equally divided among my seven daughters namely Elizabeth, Rebecca, Mary, Ruth, Ann, Crecey, & Rachel.
     And of this my last will and testament I make my dear and loving wife my whole full & sole executrix, but in case my said wife dies I will that my said sons Charles Walker and Joseph Walker shall be my executors obliging them thereby to see my will performed in Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand & affixed my Seal the above mentioned Twenty Eighth Day of May 1730 ~

     Same day, 30 Oct 1730, came Rebecca Walker the widow and executrix of Charles Walker Senr. and declared that she would abide by the will and take what is therein bequeathed her in lieu of her dower, before me, Cha: Calvert, Com'ry Gen'll.
     The Inventory of Charles Walker was returned by Rebecca Walker on 21 January 1730 at a value of 209L 4S 2P. It named five slaves, two males and three females valued at a total of 79L. Perogative Court (Inventories) 16 [MdHR 1123 1-11-5-5], pp. 72-73 Charles Walker, 21 January 1730.
