For either option, you are honor bound to send a check to Steve to the address below.
Send your check (suggested amount $10 to $20) MADE OUT TO STEVE VORENBERG to PO Box 216 Lexington MA 02173-7922. The total cost (stamps to me, checks to Steve) is approx what an update would have cost you anyway. Just because he's folded Quinsept, doesn't mean he can't accept money given to him as a "gift". This is *my* suggestion, and neither Steve nor I will know if you do it, just let your conscience be your guide. This is the best way to show your appreciation to Steve.
PS: For non-US, the stamps issue comes up. In lieu of stamps, I suggest IRCs. Based on what I can redeem the IRCs for, I ask for 10 of them from Canadians, and 12 from other countries. In case you don't know what they are, you get International Reply Coupons at your post office. In effect, it's like buying a piece of paper that is only good at the post office. I take the pieces of paper to the post office, and they will exchange them for US stamps. This procedure saves non US from having to aquire US stamps, and me from having to pay exchange fees for money orders or checks. The alternative is if you have PayPal, you can send US$10 to my PayPal account (kathryn@bassett.net). Be sure to say why you are sending the money, and give me the address you wish the disk sent to.
